That's what I'm good at fixing.

I'm Greg Neumayer, and I've spent the last two decades creating animations that make complex science understandable. I work with companies like Illumina and genomics startups to turn their most challenging concepts into clear visual stories.

Why Science Communication is Different
Most animators can make things move, but when you're dealing with gene expression or molecular pathways, you need someone who actually understands what they're animating.

I've learned that good science communication isn't just about making things look professional—it's about knowing what your audience needs to grasp and what they can safely ignore. After working with genomics companies for years, I can spot when a visualization is scientifically accurate but completely overwhelming, or when it's simple but misleading.

My Background
I have a BA in Art from Whitworth University with a music minor. I didn't plan to specialize in science communication, but I kept gravitating toward the most complex projects—the ones where the visual puzzle was to distill the complex into something beautiful and understandable.

Turns out I'm good at breaking down complicated ideas.
The art background helps me think visually, and years of working with research teams have taught me to ask the right questions about accuracy and audience.

How I Work
Before I animate anything, we figure out what your audience actually needs to understand—and what you want them to do about it. I work directly with your research teams to make sure every detail is not just visually appealing, but scientifically sound.

Whether you're explaining your platform to investors, training physicians on new therapies, or making complex workflows accessible to lab technicians, we start with your communication goal and work backward to the visuals.

Tools and Technical Stuff
I use the standard professional tools—After Effects, Illustrator, Blender, etc. But honestly, the software matters less than knowing when to use 3D molecular visualization versus simple data animation, or when motion graphics work better than photorealistic rendering.

Why Clients Work with Me
"Greg doesn't just animate our science—he helps us think through how to communicate it." That's what I want you to say about me, and it captures what I'm always pursuing.

I'm not just executing your vision; I'm helping you figure out what that vision should be. What does your audience already understand? What's the one critical thing they need to grasp? What do you want them to do next?

Whether you're a biotech startup explaining your platform or an established company training people on new therapies, I help you turn communication challenges into clear, compelling stories.
